How to convert
1700 is 5:00 PM. Read the first two digits as the hour from 00 to 23, and the last two as minutes. From 1300 onward, subtract 12 and use PM. The other way, add 12 to a PM hour. 5:30 PM is 1730.
Say an exact hour as the hour plus “hundred.” 1700 is seventeen hundred. 1730 is seventeen thirty. 1705 is seventeen oh five.
Noon is 1200, which is 12:00 PM. Midnight is 0000, which is 12:00 AM. A schedule can also write the end of the day as 2400. That is still midnight.
